nu atheists love to talk about how science influences religion, but it never happens the other way around. but like, scientific pursuits are always based on a set of metaphysical convictions, and so experimental outcomes are always interpreted in view of, say, some ontological underpinnings.

but given that these people are essentially nu positivists, their disdain for metaphysics is probably an insurmountable obstacle.
